Did you ladies go through an agency where you had to create your own profile or did you go through an agency that chargerd you and they put your profile together? One agency that I was thinking of using has you put one together and they review it tell you the corrections you should make and then distributes the profiles for you or the other agency I'm guessing does all of that for you but it costs $350.00. Any advice you ladies can share would be greatly appreciated!!
We did our own profile and the agency keeps a copy in a big notebook at their office. They asked for 5-6 copies of it so they could distribute it to birth mothers that expressed interest.
Also, I think we paid $100 (?? can't exactly remember the price right now?) to give them 3 pictures of us--one of us together, one of us doing something together like a vacation pic or something, and one of our house--and a one page Dear Birthmother letter for them to put on their national website.
Fortunately, my hubby is great on the computer with layout and we did the whole thing on the computer. Even so, it was very time consuming and sort of emotionally exhausting. It's like you have to condense your life in just a few pages and it's hard to sum yourself up that way, you know.
I wish you the best with yours, if you do it yourself! We'll look back on this stressful period after we have our babies and it won't matter! Good luck!

Wow your agency only wanted a few pages for your profile?! One of the agencies I am working with say they want a 1 page letter, 3-4 pages of pictures of just me, a few pages of family, a picture of the front and back of my house and pictures of the rooms in my house as well as pictures of my pets added to my profile. I don't really have any vacation pictures because I can honestly say I have been working like crazy and going to school so that know that I am ready to adopt everything is set. I didn't want to have to take out loans for the adoption so I wonder if that will look bad in my profile?
We put together our own profile and the agency we used reviewed it with us and made suggestions. I think most agencies offer such a service. I don't think I would go to another company to put together your profile. You can totally do it yourself. Use that $350 for advertising or even better ....a bunch of massages!
