Deeds- How was your day?

Hi Deeds,

Saw your posting on Rants and just wanted to see how your day was, I have been thinking of you all day.

When my nan died I read this poem and it helped a little.

I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was,
let it be spoken without effect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.

Thank you so much! That poem is lovely.
My day was ok. I felt very strange this morning going in, but my colleagues were great and really supportive. I spoke to my boss and he was lovely. Then when the children arrived and the first thing was a wee girl running over shouting "you're back!!!" which almost set me off, but was so nice.
Only one person asked how my holiday was - which was rough, but I explained to her why I had been away and she was mortified - which made me feel bad, but I couldn't lie about it.
Anyway - I made it through the day, which is good. That's a hurdle dealt with.

Thank you so, so much for asking, it's lovely to know people care.
