This may seem like a strange question, but how do you know if you're a BBW, large, full figured, plus size. What size, description etc. would make up these terms. I'm actually wanting to know so I can fill this section out for an on line dating profiles! I don't want to misrepresent myself and I honestly don't know where I "fit in."
I'm a size 18. I would probably be full figured if it weren't for all the weight I carry on my stomach. I know there are women a lot bigger than I am, but girls I see as small, like a size 12, are described as full figured or thick, and I know I'm a lot bigger than that so what do you think?
I think it's all down to attitude and confidence... and any size 12 that thinks she's big should have her head examined!
Personally, I think 'BBW' is for the bigger and more desparate amongst us, 'Plus Size' makes me think of the girdle section of the Sears catalog, 'Full Figured' has me thinking of the bra section of the same catalog... hmmm... diffidult question, isn't it?
If I were your size... well for starters I'd be rather happy about it (size 24 is required for my fat bottom)... I think I would describe myself as 'full figured' because getting a guy to think 'bra section' is infinitely better than having him think 'girdle section', isn't it?
I admit I don't like the phrase 'BBW' - it wouldn't make a difference to me. A size 18 isn't large at all, I'd just describe myself as 'cuddly', which I am!

I agree with this! Full figured makes me think of the "full figured bras". I think I would consider a size 18 full figured. I really don't like the fact that what size clothes you wear is a considering factor of how "large" you are. I'm sure you're beautiful, and would be at a size 24 or a size 12 as well. Personally, of it were me, I wouldn't complete that section, if a person is turned off by what size pants I wear, then they aren't the right person for me!
I would bet that people probably don't even think you are a size 18. One day I was working out at the gym with my best friend in college (who is probably a size 4 by the way), and she was rambling on about how "No one over a size 10 should be allowed to wear a bathing suit EVER!" I didn't say anything to her about her comment, but I was thinking to myself, "If she realized that I was a size 16 would she have made that comment?" She doesn't notice my 'fluff' and sees me as the same size that she is, despite the fact that we aren't even close to the same size.
Good luck filling out your profile!!

I dont like the term either and I think its NUTS Lane Bryant Store is starting to carry 12's and 14's and make that a plus size. I would die to be a 12 or a 14 and that is not plus size!!

I'm a size 18/20. I call myself a BBW (Big Beautiful woman) quite often and don't believe myself to be in any way desperate! I agree though that it is all down to attitiude and confidence. I am a beautiful woman and I see no reason to hide that becasue I'm fat. I personally think call a larger woman "fluffY" is weird but I won't name call the people here who use the term.
to the OP: any of the terms you are comfortable to you is fine, there is no misrepresentation. Although whenI tink of Full figure i think of women who have large breasts as well. ( don't know if you do or not)

I'm a size 20, and I've been told I'm too small to call myself BBW!!! That is for REALLY heavy women, like 300 pounds and up. This is from people who are seriously into the whole bbw thing.
I like to call myself "fluffy." ha ha ha

I think what we think of these descriptive terms, and what men think, are likely two different things!
I don't do online dating, but if I did and I wanted to be honest, I'd put "very overweight." At 5'3" and a size 24, I think that's honest.

I was jean shopping with my aunt once when she came across a pair of size 20 jeans and remarked that she didn't see how they would fit anyone, they were so huge. I told her I wear that size and she was embarrased. She's also a nurse and I thought that she would have seen larger people and what size they were.

I would honestly say I would always describe myself as voluptuous! meaning I am filled out in all the right places! I would say a BBW is a size 20 and up because you can sometimes find size 18's in some misses sizes (not that that makes any sense.)

Oh and let me add that any woman or man that does not think there are men out there that find big women attractive.... I can disprove that whole scenario. Do not make me name names and do not make me give numbers. I did the online dating scene met my hubby there and let me tell you he is a hottie!!! And not just in my opinion I have had to fight the girls for him believe me. I am a size 22/24 and I consider myself voluptous and always have even when I was a size 14/16. Some women that are from 180-230 lbs or so I consider curvy depending on height.
