Default defrosting question

I planned to make fish on Wednesday night and never got around to it. It was frozen fish, so I placed it in the refrigerator to defrost. Now, it's been in the fridge for 2 days. I'm wondering if you think it's OK to cook for tonight? It has been refrigerated, but I'm not sure if it'll still be good. What's the rule on this type of thing?

Thanks,

The actual rule is going to depend on how cold the refrigerator is and how long it actually took to defrost...my fridge usually takes 2 days to defrost...it's still crunchy frozen after a day.

The rule I use for raw fish: if it smells fishy/bad, throw it out, otherwise it's fine.

Thanks, Nicole! My fridge must be cold because I'll often put something in there to refrost and it's still a little frozen 24 hours later. I'll throw it out if it's smelly and use it if it's not.
