Well, we didn't even get out of Memphis. Our flight was cancelled due to the tornado warnings in Atlanta. So, we have rescheduled and should be leaving Fri (May 9) and coming home Tues. (May 13). So, I'll be in Guatemala on MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Sometimes miracles happen! I am sorry your trip was delayed, but how neat is that? Being able to spend Mother's Day in Guatemala? That's cool!!

I am so sorry that you aren't in Guatemala right now. I can only imagine the anxiety. I agree with the others though, there must be a special reason for the delay. I just know you will have a great trip.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts. You would think I would be happy about the fact I'm leaving tomorrow, but I'm more worried now than I've been most of the process. We were supposed to get Zach Sat. and the fostermom has decided she doesn't want to bring him to us Sat. because she has plans and it is Mother's day in Guatemala. Well, I want to try and respect her feelings, but even if she would bring him to us that afternoon, so she could spend half of the day with him, and us the other half, that would be fine, but she doesn't want to bring him at all.
On top of that, my agency has not been able to reach my attorney in 2 days, and so we don't even know if we have the pink slip or not. (UGH!!!) I'm sorry to be complaining so much lately. I just don't know what to do. To add to all of it, my agency's response to my concerns about all of this was, "you'll forget all about it when you are home". Yes, I probably will, but right now, I'm remembering EVERYTHING that she says!!!
Oops, I guess I better get happy really quick since I'm leaving for Guatemala tomorrow at 2pm (central time)

I totally get your anxiety and stress...although we dont actually have a face to go with our boy... which I think would make it worse becuz you just want to wrap your arms around that little guy forever...
We have been threatened with leaving later...we have been all over the place with the Adoption Centre in Kiev being turned upside down with new control and all sorts of crazy stuff happening...my heart never stops beating fast and my mind never stops racing ( and I certainly dont sleep)...
This is a hard process I dont know of anyone who has gone thru it or is going thru it that would say it is easy ... We have to give ourselves a ton of credit for doing this even though its for purely selfish reasons (not to help a poor child !!) Sometimes I think everyone should just be allowed to have children aka: our bodies work properly but in the same breath I wouldnt change the fact that in less than 2 months I will be a mom too !! Just like most everyone else !!!
Sorry this got long...Its really early in the am for me and I am all stressed out !!
I hope you have a wonderful experience .. cant wait to see pics and read your journey when you get back !!

Sometimes God has ohter plans that make things more special.....And I think that's awesome that you'll be there over Mother's day weekend. It will be a day you will never forget.
Be thinking of you, can't wait to see some pictures when you return.
