delayed symptoms? I recently tried to get off my Metformin. I was at a very reduced dosage and then off completely for about 6-9 months. 5 months ago, I realized i had gained weight etc and went to the doctor. The test results showed that my testosterone was elevated and insulin was back up. So, now I'm back to 2000mg for the last 4 months. She also took me off the pill, I had only been on it if for about a year because she felt I wasn't tolerating it well - acne, weight gain (either form that or lack of metformin who knows). Anyway, so now, I am back to where I started. Metformin 2000mg and no pill. And, now, 4 months later...when i'm expecting my blood tests are back to normal, I'm noticing a slight change in my hair growth for the worst and haven't lost a pound. Although, I did stop gaining. So, my question is - do you think these could be delayed symptoms from the high testosterone/high insulin? I remember reading once that high levels of testosterone effect your body 6 months later, so that if you testosterone is high today, in 6 months it might cause hair growth. Is that true? I'm just curious why now the symptoms. And, also curious about the no response to diet exercise regarding the weight. I'm guessing it just takes a time to get your body used to working properly. Anyone have any ideas? I dont' want to think the hair issues will get worse. It was almost cleared up completely up until now. |
