Question Demulen/Spiro

Just went to see my doc and she put me on Demulen and Spiro. Does anyone have any experience taking these two drugs at the same time? Any advice for me as well?

Thank you in advance.

Sorry if this is a little long....Ive not taken Demulen; but am on Spiro. I currently take 50mg/day. I take the full dose later in the evening and this is why: Im very sensitive to medications and the Spiro Ive noticed makes me a little dizzy/lightheaded feeling. The diuretic effect is minimal for me so Im not up constantly throughout the night; however I do wake up thirsty so I keep water next to my bed. Make sure you drink plenty of h2o throughout the day! It also makes me feel a little weird but Ive only been on it for a week. I not sure if maybe on higher doses there are more side effects? ie. bathroom and dizziness. On the good side I feel great in the morning and my acne is clearing. I was on YAZ which I hated. Took for 6 months and I swear it made my acne and fatigue worse. It made me feel like a zombie and emotionless as well. I since switched to the Paraguard IUD and have felt like Ive gotten my old self back. So its the IUD and Spiro for me! Hope this helps.

Wow. Thank you for the insight. My doc mentioned the IUD but I didnt know much about it and thought maybe to stick with BPs for a bit. I did take the spiro this morning and I do feel a little strange. Kind of lightheaded as you said. Maybe I should take it at night also. I am very sensitive to meds as well. Will try that I think. Thank you so much.

Oh my goodness. Taking the Spiro at night is great!!! It is much better to sleep through that lightheaded feeling. You do wake up energized. Thank you for your help.
