Default Denied for Insurance and Medicaid????

I just recently moved to NC with DH and am really considering moving back depsite the fact that I really like it here. I've tried to apply for medical insurance with Humana and Assurant and both companies have denied me on basis of PCOS and IR. What gives????? My insurance broker told me to stop applying because it'll be worse later on to apply for insurance. Before we moved down here, I had a comprehensive medical insurance policy in NY. I tried to go to UNC CHAPEL HILL to get medicaid but, the woman told me that unless I'm pregnant it'll be almost impossible to get a program. I just can't win!!!! Can someone please give me some advice?? Has anyone else had this problem?????

Last night I watched a Michael Moore documentary called "Sicko" about how the US health care system makes it really hard for people to get treatment...either the premiums are too expensive or you just can't get covered or when you do get sick the company won't pay for it?! Seems crazy. I know Michael Moore is very biased and one should take his ideas with a grain of salt, but your story seems to be just one example of this problem.

When I was taken off my parents insurance, I had just been diagnosed with PCOS. I had to be placed in a Risk Pool and that was the only way I got any coverage at all. My deductables are HORRIBLE as is my monthly payment - but that is the only way I could get coverage. Do they have anything like that where you are?

I was denied too, because of PCOS. It's ridiculous. I have an option to use high-priced COBRA for the next 2.5 years but I worry about what I'll do after that.

No I haven't heard of anything like that. However, I was offered a policy that only covers up to 50% of visits and such. At this point I told my broker that I'll pay up to $600 per month for coverage. I don't care how much it costs as long as I have full coverage. Still nothing!!! I applied for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. They scheduled a physical exam for Wednesday so I'm going to pile on as much makeup as possible to make the PCOS facial symptoms less noticable and get by without telling them my problem. I'm getting really pissed off cause I went to social services today and they denied me any coverage because appearantly I have to be either pregnant, a parent with kids at home, disabled, or 65+ y/o to get medicaid. Plus the guy was super rude in the office. He was like you're 25 years old, go get a job and pay for insurance. I calmly explained my situation and yet he still stood his position while being snobby. So I got up and told him to kiss my butt and walked off. It seems like I'm getting pretty desperate here. It's kinda getting me depressed because I spent 9 months working with an endo specialist getting my a$$ into shape and when I got here it's all going to go down the toilet.
