Went to the Dr. today and she suggested that I try Depro-provera.
I only have one ovary left, and saliva test shows that I have high testosterone and estrogen. The Dr. explained that the depo-provera would help with this and suppress the ovary.
Any experience with depro-vera or suggestions? Thank you so very much.

From what your tests show, I would say that Depo is a good option. I have a friend who had very high oestrogen. She had constant bleeding problems. In the end she gave depo a shot and is happier than ever. Her life has been made far easier. You could try the shortest time (is it 12 weeks?) and see how you feel?
It is very effective as a contraceptive, and generally you will only bleed when you are at the end of the course, before the new injection. Maybe take some painkillers first, as I think they inject into the muscle. My friend doesn't have a problem with it, just makes her arm ache a bit, but I don't know how you feel about it. However, if it helps you, it is a small price to pay!
You could try searching for articles on the internet. The ciao website has reviews on different contraception too.
It does increase your appetite suddenly, so watch out for that.
OMG, I think depo caused my PCOS, and there's been hordes of cysters on this board whom it made their symtpoms 1000x worse. It will decrease your estrogen, but so would progesterone pills (Prometrium) or progesterone injections (PIO). They are NOT the same as depo. Even the Mirena IUD or Implanon implant would be a better bet than depo, and they suppress the ovary without adding estrogen. And the return to fertility and the side effects are 1/100 of depo.
When I did depo, I doubled in size, got head hairloss, got a mustache, got raging emotions, and it messed up my ovulation for the next 10 years. I have been to my share of quack RE's, but all of them disrecommend depo.
If I were you, I would try anything else first. At least everything else is reversible. And there are other ways to suppress an ovary besides depo. Like I said, if you don't like the pill, there is Mirena, Implanon, or the foreign-based minipill Cerazette.

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.
Also, both estrogen and testosterone can come from the adrenal glands working overtime. Has your doctor tested your adrenal function (DHEA, cortisol 24-hr pee test or spinal tap) at all?

Ahh yes, if you haven't tried other progestogen only methods, perhaps a more easily reversible method such as the mini-pill Cerazette (though it made my PCOS symptoms worse, it may work for you) or the Mirena coil might be a safer option. At least with the mini-pill, you can just stop taking it, whereas the Mirena must be removed.
Sorry I was thinking that you may have already tried these options.. xx
