Default Depressed

Hi all.
I've been diagnosed abou 3 years ago.
I am so depressed over my insulin levels.
I'm on 2000mg metformin, and my insulin is about 25.
If I can get my insulin into nornal levels I will be so happy!

This really depresses me...

Anyone had success with lowering insulin levels?

Thanks
val

I'm sure you've heard this, but a low-glycemic index diet can really help insulin levels. I was diagnosed and put on Metformin and a low GI diet and when I went back for a re-check a couple months later, my insulin levels were back to where they should be. I also continued my exercise routine, and my doctor did say that atleast 30 minutes of exercise daily can help bring down insulin levels. I hope this helps some!

Thank you so much.
Yes, I remember being on a low-glycemic diet for about a week, and I felt terrific.
So I'm gonna go back to that...
Thanks!

I'm gonna check some of the low-glycemic eating books at the library.
Before I started Metformin, my insulin was 114. My doctor said he never saw anyone with that high of a level.

With 2000mg of Met, my insulin is down to 25.

Before, I had only lost 25 pounds before I got my period on my own. That was so awesome!

So I'm gonna shoot for about 10 percent of my body weight. I currently weigh 298.

Thanks for the help...
