Depressed while taking Provera?

My doctor has put me on Provera to start my periods and then is putting me on bc pills. I've been on Zoloft for 3 years due to severe depression and anxiety and I've been doing great while on it. I started taking the Provera yesterday and all I've been doing is crying and feeling sad. Does the extra progesterone make you feel this way or could it be that finding out this new "thing" is getting to me? Has anyone been more depressed after taking Provera or any other progesterone pill?

AND, when I was a teenager, I was on bc and I stopped taking them because they made me moody. Does anyone take SSRI's while taking BC and do you notice any changes in your moods? I'm just wondering what I'm in store for when I start the BC. Thanks in advance!!

When I was on Provera it was like I was Miss Nicey Nice and the next minute I was a monster. It made me so moody that when I switch OBs, he took me off. It just wasn't working for me. However, if it works for you (if you are depressed even more I would say no) stay with it. If not, talk to your doctor.

When I took progestine I was a complete weeping hostile agitated basket case! I thought I was going to lose my mind! I talked to my GP and we decided I only had to take it every three months rather than every month. That way I still got the benefit of having a/f but didnt have to ba a nutbar as often. BCP also made me nutty, but even worse, they gave me stroke like symptoms and raised my usually normal blood pressure to 150/100 (it has taken a year to go back down!). (PS- I also take Paxil for depression and it was not at all helpful during provera times and provera no longer works for me

)
