Unhappy depression

Can someone please help me? I was diagnosed with PCOS, hmmm, about last February I think. Anyway, when I was diagnosed they put me on Depo-Provera. Since then I've been extremely depressed. No one really sees it because I hide most of it. But I know the severity. I've aked 3 doctors to tak me of the shot but they all say no and move immediatley to another question, they don't really talk about it. Now, here's where I get confused. I don't now what's causng the depression, if it's the shot, PCOS, or the past, 3 years ago I my parents went through a divorce and there was a lot of emotional and verbal abuse in the house for a long time. And the regret of past mistakes (suicie attempts, drinking, smoking), I'm still hurting from all of that and so to me my depression is based on those thing's and not the shot or PCOS. I'm really confused. Can someone help me here? Any comments are welcome, feel free to e-mail me or IM me when I'm on. I would appreciate anything. Can someone please help me? Post Hmm...

Okay, I have major brain fog and MIL high blood pressure so forgive my stupidity. They prescribed depo-provera (not plain provera) for PCOS?! That is very strange, as depo can make insulin-resistance worse and causes most women to stop ovulation & mensturation. My personal experience with depo was that IMO it may have caused the PCOS. Since 2 shots 4 years ago, I have been in and out of depression, raging fits, weird AF patterns, hairloss, abdominal weight gain, and a plethora of other symptoms. When I had problems during the shots the docs didn't want to hear it either. I would get a second opinion from another obgyn if your insurance will let you!

I've been on depo-provera in the past. Not for pcos reasons ( I didn't have any signs of it until AFTER I got off of it) but for bc reasons. It made my depression WORSE. I've heard alot of women say that when they were on the shot it did the same thing to them. However, if you want off the shot, your doctor CAN'T tell you NO! It's your body and it's your decision. I've never heard of docs putting women on depo-provera for pcos. I would definately find another doctor if your insurance allows it like guinepig stated.

Take care and God Bless!
