Does your depression/nerves get worse when Af is around? Af started yesterday but I noticed the evening before and yesterday and today that I am getting irritated really easy. I went over to my neighbors last night and the kids were all trying to talk to me at one time and I almost went off on them. I am hoping thats its just because I havent been on the meds long. Anyone experience this?

Hey there,
You're not alone. I get really depressed and really irritable about a week before AF, life sucks, you suck, and nothing is 'right', I get angry at little things, have no hope, then BAM, AF arrives, and I open my eyes and say, "See ya next month Mr. Hyde"

Do you normally get like this?
What meds did you just start, the ones you said you were hoping it was because you haven't been on them long?

I have been on lexapro for almost two weeks. Yesterday(sunday) was really bad for me. I spent most of the day crying and in a really deep depression. I havent been back to work since the episode I had that started all this. It is really beginning to effect us here at home. I was the only one working to start with. I want to go back but I dont. I think I need to find something a little less stressful - but that means a cut in pay. I HATE feeling this way.

god i can get either really bad or my depression liftsand i get manic (i swear im gonna start questions my dx of depression for bi polar! it does run in family!!) xx

I have hormonal depression. It's bad just before and for the first couple days of AF. I also had post-partum depression. I take prozac which helps me a lot.
