Default depression and bcp

I'm on yasmin and have been feeling depressed lately. I'm also waking up in the middle of the night with anxiety out of no where. I just think about all these horrible things! I think it has to be the yasmin and I know a few women on here have also experienced these symptoms with yasmin.

I want to switch to Yaz to maybe see if this will help?! I really dont want to take a bcp but I have to because I have high testosterone. I'm also on metformin 500mgs 2x a day for my IR. I read metformin reduces testosterone~ Therefore I dont even know why im on a bc?

Are there any natural remedies to help with depression/anxiety?

I developed severe depression on BCP's. Anxiety, and the works. It was AWFUL. To the point that I had to stop taking them (and the depression lifted within the same week I quit).

To combat the testosterone, I switched to flutamide.

I'm not sure. Run a search on Flutamide and maybe another on Eulexin. That will bring up the threads where others are talking about it. I never took metformin...

Soulcyster, M.Allison, has been taking flutamide for awhile. I think she lists her meds in her sig.

While I understand that BCP's help a lot of cysters, getting off of them was the best thing I ever did. They were literally driving me insane.

Thanks. Is there any vitamins that can help rid of depression/anxiety?

I heard like magnesium (citrate or something) and calcium but I need to know how much I'm only 100lbs.

The pill depletes zinc and the B & C vitamins, also the omega oils from the brain. Vitamin B high potency helps me, zinc 15-30mg, also calcium and magnesium, and 2000mg omega fish oil.

I was insane on yasmin, I had uncontrollable anger attacks followed by numbness and crying. It actually drove me to attack people in rages! I am a very placid person! Dianette-35 was worse, I was so depressed I couldnt get out of the house!

Took me about 3 months to get back to my normal self.

What really helped my depression after that was to sort out my natural hormones with insulin sensitiser. (metformin/herbal)

BC is not for everyone I guess, but these vitamins should make you feel better

hey there,

I am on Yaz, and too tell the truth, if feel the same way. I always have had anxiety but not so much depression. I have been on Yaz almost 2 months now. The first month, I cried about everything, and thats not normally how i am, and i was very paranoid about things! I am assuming that taking yaz and the crying bouts are related. I also have the high testerone and am only taking yaz to lower the levels.

I know many other women experience this, maybe this is a sideeffect that will soon go away! One can only hope.

Good luck,
ariesladi25

flutamide + metformin made many women ovulate in studies, so watch you don't get pg--the flutamide causes birth defects.

I got depressed on every bcp I ever tried, but I'm still gonna give the Ring a whirl soon. Hopefully it will be different.
