Question Depression just one night a week?????

For some weird reason, ever since I was a child, Sunday nights I get really depressed. I don't want to go to bed because I usually wake up at 5:00am Monday morning in a bit of a panic. I can trace it back to one particular Sunday night when I was a little girl when it all started. But nothing in that day seems unusual. We did visit a new church but I don't remember anything that happened that would trigger this. It's so strange..... I loved school back then and now I do work on Mondays and Tuesdays but I like my job and once I get there on Monday, it's all over with, it's just Sunday night/Monday morning. After it started when I was kid, I wouldn't spend the night w/anyone, I would get the same depressed/panic/homesick feeling when it was time to go to bed even if it wasn't a Sunday night. It also seems to happen if I drink some and then stay away from home for the night, I get really really homesick/depressed. I think I must be a nutjob........lol I just wondered if anyone had any insight on this and ways to deal with it.

Hmmmmm I have no idea.
Maybe if you talked to counsiler (I never can spell that) you can talk about what happened that night and maybe remember something you forgot, or maybe something you didn't consider significant at the time will be significant in their opinon.
Good luck baby girl
Hugs
Julie

Well, we all know your a nutjob but it has nothing to do with your panic/depression! And we love you that way....just to let you know!

Seriously....I agree that you should consider talking to a counselor. To me it sounds like an abandonment issue but that is just my intro to psych 101 talking.

Please tell us how things are going, you of all people know that we are always here to listen and occasionally we say something brilliant to help you through!

(((Hugs))) Go hug your tator.

Heather

Well, I don't have much advice but a similar thing happens to me. There are certain songs that if I listen to them, take me back to times in my life where things weren't very good. They will make me sad to the point where it takes me hours to get out of the funk. I think our minds are so strong, that even tho we may not remember certain events, a smell, time, song, will trigger it and cause us to feel sad. I wish I could be of more help! Hope you can work this out sweetie.

ETA: I agree with Heather, go hug Tator!

Wow, I have virtually the same problem, except that for me it's only Saturday nights and when I'm away from home overnight. Ever since I can remember I've felt that way. What I've had some success with is trying to relax with herbal tea, a book, and some comforting music. When I'm away from home, I always bring this particular herbal tea with me to drink before bed. Having that one consistancy from home helps me some. Good luck and (((hugs)))

Alot of times people get depressed on Sundays, because for most people Monday is the start of the work week for them. But as for as far as you can remember doing so on Sunday, haven't the slightest idea.
