Default Depression and Mood Swings...how much more??????

I have been experiencing depression and mood swings since before I was diagnosed with PCOS. I am sick and tired of all of it! It is also tough that people do not understand. Somedays I feel like I am going to go crazy. Sometimes it is the slightest thing that depresses me or sets me off!

There are also days when I feel I cannot take the swings anymore. I recognize them but do not know what to do!

I know exactly how you feel too! I was always so sad and I worried about everything, every little thing that was not even an issue, I worried about. Basically I had anxiety attacks about everything. It started to take over my life so my doctor put me on Paxil and honestly, my life changed completely!!!! I can now actually enjoy my life instead of spending every waking moment worried and depressed

Thank you all for your responses! I am going to talk to the doctor. Should I talk to my gyn or my regular doctor?

Thanks again!

I have anxiety/depression. I take 20 mgs of Celexa and it's working good for me so far. I also take ativan on occasion for panic attacks.

I also use litebook therapy to help with depression! if you want check out the website.

Angry Anything else to take other than anti-depressants?

Hi!
My partner was formally diagnosed with PCOS late last year. It wasn't the best news. She's had mood swings just like you all described. I was lost at first, and couldn't quite understand what hormones can really do to you.
Anyhow, she got off the pills for a year and there was noticeably no mood swings as dramatic as when she was on treatment. Now that she's back on, the depressions seem to be tagging along too.

Anything ELSE she can take other than anti-depressants??
I've been having a look at some medicine journals to find out more about PCOS and empirical treatments, but they all seem to be management strategies, not actual solutions.

Any recommendations?

Love to hear from you all.

Lucy
