Default Depression and PCOS

Hi, I am new to this site but so far it's been a huge help in getting information! I was dx with PCOS about 4-5 months ago. All of my symptons started to show up when I stopped bcps about 1 year ago. I'll be taking provera again soon and then trying Clomid, BUT what I'm most concerned about is the depression that has come on in the last several months.

Before I was on bcps, I struggled with depression. Then when I was on bcps, I thought I "outgrew" it like it was just teenage angst or something. Now that I'm off bcps again, the depression is back.

We are TTC so I don't want to go back on bcps - does anyone know if Clomid will help with depression? Or, are there any herbs or supplements that anyone has had success with? There's so much info, that it's hard to figure out what to try... I just want to get past this irrational feeling of hopelessness...

thanks!

The clomid might make your depression worse because it basically interupts the bodys production of estrogen. The hormone fluctuations seemed to magnify depression symptoms. Reaching out to a counselor or even talking to your doctor about antidepressants would be beneficial. If you want to go the natural way, I would suggest exercise, exercise, exercise. Eating healthier, avoiding caffine, and limiting sugar can't hurt. Also, and this sounds lame, but a hobby outside of TTC would help too.

thanks for the advice... I was afraid of more hormonal craziness! I'm working on changing my diet - I actually eat pretty healthy now but I definitely could change a few things... and get back to working out...
