Default dermatologist

Hello all. I have not posted for months having just spent another spell in the local psychiatric hospital but am out now and pleased to be back to this website.

One of the major causes of my depression is the condition of my skin. It distressed me so much that it just makes me want to die. With age I have overcome the acne problem but now have severe skin atrophy (thinning) and the sensation of insects crawling all over my face and body.

Can anybody recommend a friendly dermatologist in London or the south east who might listen to me and take me seriously.

I have seen a number of hormone specialists but they have all dismissed me.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

best wishes to everybody, Sue S

Hi Sue

Sorry, I don't know of any dr - I'm miles away. But I just wanted to say hello and welcome back.

Hi, have you been tested for Cushing's? thinning skin is one of the symptoms, I am having tests for it at the moment.

thank you guys for your messages. I'm going back to my doctor on friday to see if he can help. Charly - I looked up cushings and I don't have any of the other symptoms described so I don't think it is that. What symptoms do you have? It doesn't sound very pleasant.
