There are so many options out there, Kat was right when she said you could go see a doctor and maybe get an anti-androgen, they have helped so many here from what I've read........or just do the laser.

But at the end of the day, if I had a husband who said those things to me, I'd feel like the luckiest woman in the world.
As far as I can make out, most men are actually OK about wives who shave. It's certainly never put off my dh or our male friends who know I shave every morning.

I hope you feel better! Trust me, you notice your extra hair a lot more than others do. Laser is definately the way to go if you can save a little money for those kind of treatments, I've heard so many good things about it.

Default You guys rock

First of all, thank you, all of you, you guys rock. Just reading your replies put a smile on my face. Soooo happy I've found this place, should have done so earlier....

DiamondInTheRough, I have a few questions for you about the laser, since it sounds like we have the same hair situation (fine dark hair on bright skin, don't shave):

I do intend to laser my face and neck, I have almost all my money save but I have some fears: does laser work on fine hair? I heard it mainly works on thick hair. And also, could it be that some areas will stop growing and some won't, and this way I will be left with asymmetric growth? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to get enough info about it before I start

Thank you so much!

It is tricky. I have a hard time not falling into despair myself. I just try to focus on solutionand action. It helps me feel some sense of control. I have body and face hair, and my hair is thinning as well. However, I used to have terrible acne before I started flutamide, and I am so much happier without cysts all over my face. Also, I have had great luck with finasteride for my scalp hair in the past. I went off of it because three doctors told me that they believed it was cuasing my body hair. Big mistake. Finasteride actually improves body hair I have come to find out. I am back on it at a higher dose and am expecting improvement again. Point being, there are lots of solutions out there. Many work for different women. It does seem hopeless sometimes, but the stories people share on soul cysters is proof that things can get better with treatment and different methods. That said, it takes a lot of work to keep your spirits up when you feel that you are getting uglier and uglier. I know the feeling well. Like the other ladies have said though, your hair problems are probably not even noticable to other people. I have super thin hair, and people frequently compliment me on it. I get more compliments on my hair then I ever have in the past. People are funny that way.
