Default In DESPERATE need of PCOS DR in HAWAII!!!

I have been fighting with the military doctors for year trying to get treatment for my PCOS. I have tryed seeing many different doctors at Trippler for treatment, however they all want to do one of two things. Put me on birth control, or Fertility Medications. Here is the problem. After going through all the tests and having the PCOS dignoses confirmed the Dr I was seeing at Trippler then tells me they wont start me on Fertility Meds until my husband returns from deployment. I have tryed the birth control for the PCOS and found that it did not help, there for it is not a option for me until he returns. I am lost and feeling completely helpless. For something as serious as PCOS I should not have to wait for Treatment. I am finally at my braking point and can not do this anymore. Does anyone know of a good DR to treat PCOS in Hawaii ?
(Military or Not... it dont matter anymore if I have to pay out of pocket to get the treatment I need) Also, are there any suggestions?
Thank you for taking the time to read this and try helping me out.

Hey, I am on Oahu, in Kailua to be exact. I saw a doctor named Ravi Reddy. He was with Kapiolani clinic for a while, and now he has since transferred over to another clinic, I believe its Straub in either Ewa Beach of Mililani...not too sure. I havent been able to see him lately because its across the island for me.

But let me tell you....in my opinion, he is AWESOME. He diagnosed me a while back and immediately started me on Met (ugh..i wont get into that) but I was super excited because I finally realized that im not a nut case like everyone thinks! He explained thorougly what it was and how it worked. He didnt waste time with bogus tests that come back inconclusive, he just went by symptoms and gave me some suggestions to try in between our 2 month check up. Very friendly, polite, considerate, etc. Unfortunately I dont have his current business number, but im sure you can look it up. Hope this helps a little. Good luck and keep us updated!

Thank you so much for the help. I actually see my regular doctor on Wensday and am going to try getting a referal out since the military doctors have been no help to me. Years ago before I had my daughter (6 to be exact) when I first found out that I had PCOS I was seeing a wonderful Air Force Dr at Travis who had put me on Metformin then. It took me awhile to get adjusted to the new med, but within two months of being on it I was doing great and having very little side effects from my PCOS and Insulin Resistance. However, I ended up pregnant with my daughter at that point and went into full on gestational diabetes. They put me on Insulin and everything. After having my daughter, the doctor I was seeing dropped the ball. They would not put me back on the metformin and basically would tell me if I lost weight that I would not have the problems with the PCOS. (I had moved from CA to HI before getting pregnant so I was seeing a new dr). It has taken me years and over a dozen doctors to find one who would listen to me and give me a referal to Trippler for the PCOS. After all the tests and all the crap I have went through with the doctor at Trippler I was feeling completely hopeless of ever getting treatment for the PCOS. I could not belive how they were going to wait 8 months before treating me and they would not even consider using the metformin treatment that had worked so well for me in the past. After spending the past six years fighting with the army to take me seriously, I know exactly what you mean about everyone actting as if your crazy. I don't know what they expect though, when we are suffering and the people who are trained to help you refuse to or are clueless about the condition. I am very thankful to you for responding to my post here and offering me the name of your DR. Now lets hope that I will be able to get a referal out... with the Army there is never any telling. I will keep you updated after my appointment on Wensday.
