Default Desperate for some help

I got off of BCP in January and have had every single symptom of PCOS but no doctor seems to want to help. It's the same answer every time "give it more time" or "you aren't having periods because you are stressing yourself out". I am so beyond frustrated. I am currently not overweight, and I am so afraid of becoming overweight. When I was on BCP I could lose weight so easily... just exercise. Now I have been exercising so much and NOTHING. I have gained 10lbs since getting off the pill, have acne on my chin, between my eyebrows and every now and then on my cheeks (it is the red, painful kind) and I am getting hair on my upper lip and very lightly on my stomach. I had a withdrawl bleed after stopping the pill, had a +OPK on CD 21 and then started my period on CD 34... after that, I didn't have a period for 76 days (May 16th) and since May 16th... nothing! I am really freaking out and getting depressed.

Any advice would be helpful. I just don't understand why doctors can't listen to their patients!

I should point out that my primary care DID order blood work and a pelvic ultrasound... both came back normal (although my LH/FSH ratio was 6:1 (FSH 1.4 and LH 8.4) but it was right smack in the middle of my lengthy cycle... not on day 3).

i hear you on the doctor issue. my family doctor since i was about 5 years old after putting me on bcp on and off since i was about 14 for my period issues still refused to even send me for an ultrasound, and i was having 3month long periods at the time. so i go to a couple other doctors and offices with the same issue and they do the same thing, put me on bcp and not look any further for anything. i move to the city finally and find a walk in clinic to go to for my typical period dilema, which now was accompanied by pain and much larger clots then normal, and also was at about the 4month mark, they didnt even hesitate to send me for an ultrasound. once i got the results for that they actually went ahead and got me a family doctor at their clinic to help me get a dx on my issue. it really just goes to show you that alot of these doctors dont really seem to care what you say. if you dont find help with your typical doctor then go somewhere else, or you need to be firm and bring information to back you up. i would really recommend getting a second opinion. it wont hurt and who knows, you may find a doctor that actually cares enough to search for the issue rather then try to band-aide it.
good luck, and message me anytime you need to vent about it.

Check the Find A Doctor forum to see if there's a doctor familiar with pcos in your area.

Keep in mind, you might not actually have pcos, but at least you'll be under the care of a doctor who knows what to look for.

In the meantime, arm yourself with the following diagnostic information:
