Does anyone experience this: Detached, disconnected, "out of it" feelings. My doc says is normal when you're hormones are out of whack like mine, but I've never heard of this in any PCOS book. Anyone else feel like this?

I had quite a bad period of depression a couple of years ago and it started by my feeling as though I wasn't "in the world" I was "watching it" and not connected.
I would go back to your GP. Though incidentally I tried taking Lustral, an antidepressant and it didn't really help but St John's Wort does. Not quite sure why! May be because my depression was a PMT symptom?????

Have you been feeling anxious as well? I know for certain that anxiety,( when it is rather severe ) can bring that feeling on too. I hope you get the correct help, I have been there and know how strange it can make you feel. Try some relaxation techniques: meditation, deep breathing, visualization, or whatever else helps you to feel calmer. Depression and anxiety tend to go hand in hand. Take care, KC
I have this too, and it's related to fatigue for me, not depression (but my doctor kept thinking I was still depressed when I wasn't because I had the fatigue still). Do you feel like there's a barrier between your brain and the rest of the world? Sometimes I say it's like there's a cloud around my head or something.
I was seeing a psychiatrist for a year because I assumed to was depression too. She gave me antidepressants but they just made it worse. The detached feelings are better now that I'm off A.D.s but it's still there. I do have anxiety but I get the detached feelings when I'm calm and just sitting at home.

That's totally how it feels! Like I'm in a different world from other people some times. Also, when I look back on my day in the evening, it seems like it happens months ago and is foggy. My naturopath says that's what hormones do to you, so hopefully it'll get better.
