I guess it depends on your defintion of detoxing. DH has done fruit detoxing, where he starts each morning with fruit and juice only, then lunch and supper are heavy in veggies, low in processed carbs. He said after your body has gotten used to it, it's an amazing way to eat.
I went off of OTC meds and caffeine and stayed away from processed carbs and my body reacted very favorably.
Did it help you concieve? how did you come across recipes for it?

My doctor said that going off of caffeine and OTC meds as well as eating a healthy diet helped me conceive so quickly. I lost 30 pounds before I conceived. I was eating this way about 6 months before I conceived. I was diagnosed with PCOS in October 2002 (which is when I started the diet) and I got pregnant in April 2003.
I avoided:
Caffeine & OTC meds
Soy except in Chineese food
Grains (bread, pasta, cereal, etc)
Table sugar and high fructose corn syrup (except in my cheat foods of ketchup and salad dressings)
Potatoes
Rice
I ate lots of:
Veggies
Fruit
Full fat dairy
Meat
Nuts & Seeds
Olive oil (we almost always cook in olive oil, occassionally use butter)
Butter
Also, I ate sugar free products including ice cream, candy, diet caff. free pop, etc. I have never tried to lower my salt intake.
My doctors were so clueless about PCOS I did my own research. I try to check the Glycemic Index and stick with lower GI foods except for fruits and veggies, which I don't limit.
