I'm taking a 2mg tablet of dexamethasone twice a day for the next three days... and I gotta admit that this first pill is kinda fun! However, I feel bad for anyone who ticks me off for the next 3 days...
(BTW, we're trying to figure out where the excess testosterone is coming from.. ovary or adrenal.. the "after" bloodwork is Saturday and I'll know something by the end of next week... but only cuz I'm going to get a copy of my results.)
So like I said...
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! |

My Mood: Points: 2,817.80 Bank: 2,909.37 Total Points: 5,727.17 | We're just doing a dexamethasone suppression test to suppress my adrenal glands and more or less see what happens...
Day 1- I had a blast! I was giddy but quite happy to just be on the couch.
Day 2- Felt like poo, didn't want to move, tummy wasn't happy with me.
Day 3- Had to work feeling like poo and not wanting to move.. noticed shortness of breath.
But I took my last pill a few hours ago, so that's it for me... maybe... we'll see what my labs show, I guess.
I was taking 2 mg twice a day. |

Are you feeling better now that you are finished with the Dexamethasone??? I hope that your test went well on Saturday and I'll be checking back here during the week to see your results!! Did they do that ACTH test - I think that is what it is called? Can I ask you...what made them decide to check your adrenals? I don't know if I'm asking the right question, but I guess I am wondering if my problems are coming from them instead of my ovaries, but wasn't sure if there are any symptoms that would give you a clue to know to test them. I wonder, if it is coming from your adrenals instead of your ovaries, what will they do for you? One doctor a few years ago suggested maybe my problem was with my adrenals, but when he did a DHT blood test it was normal (whereas before it had been high which is what made him suggest adrenals). I'm having issues now and will be seeing the doctor tomorrow and was going to ask him how he could figure that out. And, if it is from adrenals, does that mean birth control pills won't work to regulate the androgens since they're not from the ovaries? Sorry for so many questions you may not have answers to, but your post just made me very curious!! Thanks for any info!! I hope you get some answers soon to help you out!!
