HI LADIES~ I was wondering if you could pray for dh and I?!? Dh got fired last Friday. We have no money and our car paymts are due this weekend? We don't know what we are going to do? Dh had a call back from one, of the many, applications that we put in. They are supposed to call sometime next week? Will you ladies please pray that he gets this job. I don't work, but looking and appling. Please pray that I will also be blessed with a job too. We have been through so much financially since we got married not long ago. Just been married a year and two months. Sometimes I don't know how we are going to make it, but God always makes a way. I guess I am just looking for some support, which you all are very good at, and encouragement!!! My mom and dad are willing to let us move into their camper? That may sound silly, but we will be able to get on our feet with no bills, besides our cars/insurance. I am seriously thinking about it? I don't know.. I guess we will just have to see what happens?!? Bless you all for your kindness/prayers Love ~ Shae

I'm praying that God watches over you and keeps you safe. You have each other and that's alot more than most people these days. Remember what your marriage means to you. I lost my job earlier this summer. It took me months to find a new job....but sometimes bad things are really blessings in disiguse. May God watch over you and keep you safe.

I am so sorry about this! I know it must be so scary and stressful. I will be keeping you and your DH in prayer and that you will find jobs quickly and that perhaps that this call back for his application will be the job.
Im so sorry to hear about your husbands job loss. How stressfull. I will keep you both in my thoughts.
Just a quick little FYI, you can call your car company and let them know of the financial hardship you are having and get a deferrment on your payments. Worth looking into!
Good luck

I said a prayer for you and DH. I hope things get better for you soon. Maybe taking your parents up on that offer would be a good thing, at least until things are a little better. Take care.

You don't (NOT) have nothing...if that makes sense. You have each other, and most importantly, you have God! This is the best time to get down on your knees together and start to pray! Do you have Bibles?? Do you have a Couples Devotional?? There's a great Devotional if your new to this, called "Meet the Bible" by Philip Yancey & Brenda Quinn., thats a devotaional for the year. Maybe a page a year that you can read together to get to know the Bible from beginning to end. You may even be able to take it out at your local library and read some of it together. If you don't have a Bible....do you attend church?? Most churches will give you a Bible...or I would be willing to send you a Bible too! Thats definately the first step is to read together. How do I know?? Because Doug and I have gone through it in our early part of our marriage and we're going through it yet again now as I've lost my job! He's in College so I'm the main support right now. When we don't read Gods word together and pray together, we leave ourselves open for Satan to come right in and trample our home and our life....Of course its not just satan....some of it is laziness on our part...although now its just finding the time with DH gone all the time to clinicals and school and work himself. But right now the job he's at, isn't making enough.....However, God followed through.....with prayer and scripture reading, and FAITH in Christ, the disaster with my employer is over and I am able to move on, we recieved another check from the college while we were waiting for the others to come...THATS GOD. We weren't alone and we didn't have nothing. But I'll tell you a secret.....I felt helpless, I felt scared, I felt unable to control what would happen. It drove me crazy....and in some cases is still driving me NUTS because I don't have a job and well....we need to come up with something quick....we're planning to adopt next summer and have to make a certain income bracket, not to mention things just need to be in order.....but God knows its HIS order not MINE or YOURS.
So take a deep breath, relax, draw a bath, and get out that Bible, find a couples devotional, and both of you get on your knees and start to pray together.....I don't care how silly it seems at first. I know Doug and I were nervous at first to pray in front of each other.....but now we love to pray for each other. A house that prays together, stays together.
Call your banks for the car loans......some of them have plans where you can skip only 1 pymnt for the year. May cost you 35.00 but if you can skip the one payment, do it....but check it out beforehand to make sure they don't penalize you more for that. I'm not sure where your loans are from.
Got cable?? Get rid of the plan down to the cheapest.
What about phones?? can you do something there??
Start shopping at discount stores.....or eating rice and beans for the week or pbj. will save you alot.
There is a book out called "Debt Proof your Marriage" by Mary Hunt Ladies, if you never get another book in your life.....THIS IS THE BOOK TO GET!! Honestly...before I lost my job, It's helped us to start building our credit again from a damaged credit history that I brought along with me from being an only child from an abusive home, but given all the material possesions I could want.....and never taught the basic princials of saving, balancing a checkbook, and other HUGE ISSUES that put us into financial ruin (along with medical bills) before we even got married. This book shows men what women need, and women what men need and the types of financial differences. Its the best gift you could give ANYONE. It teaches principals to save, how to get out of debt...and she even wrote other books. AND if you really want to go further after reading this book...her website is full of information....she gives out loads of snipit of how-to's for free....but if you purchase the online yearly newletter, you get EVERYTHING. Just wonderful...I love it! I don't have the site yet, Obviousely I'm not in a place where I can yet or I would...but someone gave me that book...and I've been blessed. Here's the site : http://www.cheapskatemonthly.com//st...sp?idProduct=2
I'm so excited for you.....Your where I'm at.....does it stink??YES! Is God going to bless you for being obediant?? You betcha! He's taken me out of my comfort zone. I'm no longer in Upstate NY with our family to support us. we've been in Ohio since June "02" and doug has one more year of college after this one before he graduates. Do I feel trapped?? Yeah! Am I used to being the provider?? nope! Am I used to balancing the checkbook and saving?? Ummm Does it look like it from what i said up there?? Sounds kinda scarey doesn't it?? Yet I'm doing Excellent. haven't bounced a check (knock on wood) and God feels I'm worthy to have this much responsibilty. I'm about ready to knock one of the feminists a good one because I'd rather be in the home (not that thats much easier....but I feel much more at ease there). I'm so out of my comfort zone I'm not sure if I'm coming or going.....and I'd be lying if I didn't say I wasn't scared, or didn't get depressed at times.....but thats only when I look too far ahead and see only the "BIG PICTURE" that only I can see.....not the picture that God see's that he can accomplish which is so much smaller. I can do All things through Christ who strengthens me! Say it with me.....I can do All things through Christ who strengthens me! One more time for good measure!! I can do All things through Christ who strengthens me! Ah, good! Now I feel better.
Heavenly Father, I take the time to pray for this couple. You know their situation Lord. I ask that you would do the same for them, that you have done for Doug & I Lord....I pray that you would bind their hands together....that they would seek you in all they do. Your word says "Seek ye first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Matthew 6:33-34 and the things you promise to give that you spoke of in Matthew 6:25-27 Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Father, your word says it all! You spoke to me even. I pray that we would all see these words you give to us and use them...hold them close to us, and remember them. I pray for victory over this couples finances, over our finances father, and thank you for this website here at soulcysters and the one formed by soulcysters members here in Northeastern Ohio. Lord these women are a support. They were made by you, and are used by you. I ask that you bless each and every one of them and their families. I pray for Kat and ask that you would bless her life Father. Give her strength throughout her day. I ask that you would keep her safe, give her direction, peace, joy, and I just lift her & her family up to you Father and ask that each one of us would daily seek your purpose for our lives. I also take the time to pray for those who've been overcome by poverty, illness, homelessness, depression, suicide, racisim and anything else I may have forgotten. I pray for the "fruit of the spirit" in Galatians 5:22-23 which are Love, Joy Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. I believe with the "fruit of the spirit" anything can be overcome! ... in Jesus Mighty name....AMEN!

Thank you SO much ladies!!! Yes, we have a few bibles and I do read them. I've been going to church, at the same church, since I was a little girl, but dh and I are trying a new one this weekend. I am no longer comfortable at my church. So I am hoping this is God's doings on this too.. since I've been praying about this too. We are excited and hoping this will strengthen us both. I don't doubt the power of prayer and I do believe in answered prayers, etc from God. I will look into the book that was mentioned I do have some books for Godly women, etc, but can't wait to get this one. As far as phones, cable, etc.. we haven't had them for quite some time now. I knew these were things we something we could live w/out. Thank you all so much for your prayers and concerns! You ladies are awesome! May God Bless You! Shae

Praying for you and Dh, money can be such a scary thing sometimes (wow, do we know).
I think your parents offer is awesome....if it gives you both enough room and privacy, I think that is great, even for when you both have jobs....will give you time to save up some so that you are completely on your feet.
But either way, you are right, God provides. In our hardest times something always came through, and I know He met our needs, and helped us get on our feet.
{{{{hugs}}}} for you both, and to give you comfort and peace in your marriage (so that you don't hurt each others' feelings with $ worries....it isn't worth it....you didn't mention this problem but I wanted to pray that it doesn't become an issue if it isn't) <~~whew, hope that all made since....sometimes it is easier to think a statement then to say it LOL
