Yes, we had a lovely time, although the choice of music left a bit to be desired! They had a rock band playing after the meal - not really appealing to the majority. It meant that most people left the room, went to the bar and there was about ten people who were mosh heads in their youth who stayed with the band. I felt a bit sorry for them really. But we had a fantastic time. We were at a table with some really good friends of ours and had a great giggle. Denis got hammered...I got his hangover!
looking lovely! Glad you had a good time, I always get dh's hangover, its just not fair!
Why does that happen??? I wasn't even drinking and I felt like death warmed up the next day. So much so that I (the total Christmas addict) asked DH to leave getting the decorations down from the loft til another day when I offered to get them on Sunday!
Looks fun! We have DP's xmas do on Saturday. My company dosnt have a Christmas do- dont ask me why- probably dont want to offend anyone that dosnt celebrate Christmas etc etc but Im sure its more to do with cost saving!!
Im not a big drinker but always end up with hangovers even when Ive had nothing to drink! I used to smoke loads when we went out too but Ive given it up since being preg- now I find I wake up with a sore chest in the mornings after a night out too when I havnt even smoked!
So despite being angelic when we go out I end up in a worse position the next morning than DP!

How are you doing Shellie?
The bit about the rock band and moshing did make me chuckle. Bizarre for a Chirstmas party? Oh well, something different! I've been to 2 Christmas parties so far which both included very cheesey Macarana (sp?), Whigfield, Conga, Cha Cha thing and much worse. Could do with some moshing after being subjected to all that x2, lol. Have another 'do' on Saturday, I think this one will be a bit more 'with it' (I live in hope anyway....hehe)
I am doing ok thanks, I did have some not great news about my 'issues' last week but it's ok now, I'll just move on from that. Everything happens for a reason I spose. Then on top of that I got 'hives' as I think I mentioned, that was nasty and it started to come back yesterday but luckily not a bad dose like last week. Still a bit unsure of the cause. Also I started my new job this week. It's quite difficult, I dunno how I am gonna manage it, I hope somehow I will. Most people are nice but there is one lady who doesn't like me already, she is so off I put up Christmas decorations in the office yesterday as instructed and this morning a miserable bint had taken them all down! She claimed they had all fallen down, funny how they were all packed back into the box again, I guess they just flew accross the room and packed themselves away *sighs*
Anyway, moving on.....(sorry turned into a mini-rant there!)
Have you got anymore Christmas gatherings planned?
x

Hmmm....I think I missed something here. What happened?
It takes a couple of months to settle in a new job so stick with it. You'll get the hang of it all of a sudden. Don't worry about the battle-axe either...try to ignore her. Good luck with it - I'm sure you'll be fine.
No more Christmas parties for now. No, I lie...dinner with the gang DH and I do Scouts with next Monday. Christmas day we are spending with our best friends who are Dara's godparents, Boxing Day we're at a surprise 40th birthday, then we've a couple of dinner parties (sounds very grown up!) and New Years Eve we're at a friends house for a murder mystery bash. I'm looking forward to it all I have to say.
We're supposed to be going to visit my friend and her DH and baby in Norwich at the weekend. All depends on how Dara is when we bring her back to the doc on Friday. I really hope we can go because we'd planned on bringing the two babies to see Santa together! Thought it would be cute!
