Hi All-
I've spent the last few nights reading some posts and I have learned a lot. Similar to some of the others posting in the Newbie board, I have some questions.
But before all that, some background. Back in December I had a cyst rupture (ouch, btw). After TTC since Feb '07, I had bloodwork done in late Feb/March, and was diagnosed with PCOS. My doctor hasn't discussed PCOS proper with me, so much of what I've learned is from websites and this board. To be honest, doc seemed pretty relaxed about it, and I didn't know that it could set me up for other health concerns later in life until recently. Instead, the doc and I talked about fertility options, and onto Clomid I went. I'm finishing up my 3rd day on the drugs, no complaints or questions on that.
Anyhow, my questions. I know I can still have a period even though I haven't ovulated - hormones and such. But, if I haven't been ovulating, why have my tests been positive for ovulation (including the day before the bloodwork was taken)? Can you still have an LH surge w/o ovulating? My BBT spikes around the same time my ovu-tests are positive and stay elevated until that disappointing day when I start. My cycles can last anywhere from 31-35 days... and the 'joyous' week can last anywhere from 3 to 8 days.... is that normal for PCOS? I'm just confused I guess. I just don't feel consistent with what a lot of the rest of you are experiencing. Any thoughts, words of comfort, etc?
Thanks in advance!
