Hi Girls my name is Stefanie I am 20yrs old from NH. I was just diagnosed in May. I am currently on round 1 of Clomid 50mg. I don't believe I have ovulated this month becuase my temps have been all over the place. Today is day 26 and still no sign of anything. I have been TTC # 1 since October 2004 when my DH and I got married. I am usually over on www.babytalkbio.com/boards and a few of the girls told me about this site so I thought I would come and check it out.

Welcome to SC. When I was first dx I was being treated by my ob/gyn. He put me on Clomid to try to get me to ovulate. I was (still am) ttc. He said that after 4 cycles of Clomid not working, he'd refer me to an RE. I took Clomid for 2-cycles, and decided at that time to go to the RE for 2 reasons: (1) Clomid alone was not helping me to ovulate and I felt like I was just wasting time and didn't want to waste 2 more cycles and (2) Clomid alone is only treating the infertility end of PCOS. It does not treat PCOS itself. So, I went to RE who confirmed PCOS dx and put me on Metformin, which is the standard treatment of PCOS along with diet change & exercise. You should ask your doc where he stands on the Met issue (if you haven't already) and consider that as an option to not only treat the infertility symptom of PCOS, but to also take control of PCOS.
