I have not been officially diagnosed with PCOS yet but I am wondering about my hair loss. It started after I started taking Loestrin last year and even though I am no longer taking it, the hair loss continues. I have been to 4 doctors so far and not one of them can tell me what my problem is. How do you know if hair loss is the genetic kind or from some kind of medical condition? I know my bloodwork came back with slightly elevated DHEA. My testosterone is within normal range and my ferritin is on the low end of normal (very low end). I just want to find out what is causing it so I know if there is anything I can do about it. My hair is thinning all over but is more concentrated on the top near my bangs. This area thinned dramatically from the BCP's. It is a serious blow to your self esteem. IT makes me feel like a completely different person. Last year at this time my hair was thick and dark. Now it is thinning and gray

**Round 3: Clomid 100mg, O'D and BFP!
**BFP on 6/23/07!! EDD 2/27/08**
**8/13/07 HB at doctor's office
**8/28/07 HB on home Doppler approximately 155 bpm!
**10/19/07 Ultrasound looked good, quad tests came back negative! (Baby's gender is a surprise!)

Before I was officially dx with PCOS my hair started to fall out. I have always had shoulder lenght, very thick hair. Then what seems like overnight my hair started to fall out. I have a bald spot at the back and now it's starting to come out on the sides. Someone told me about this shampoo called Nizoral and conditioner called Nioxin. The shampoo cost $10-15 and the conditioner cost $15-30. I was speaking to a stylist this past Saturday and was advised about Nurti Ox. I bought it Sally's Beauty Supply. It cost $16. It doesn't leave your smelling good but it does seem to stimulate your scalp. It's a 3-step process but hopfully it will be worth it.
