Default Diagnosis grief and nightmares

Hi Everyone!

Still awaiting the results of my bloodwork but I should have a dx (well maybe not but probably) by Tuesday 10/1. Meanwhile, as I have been playing the waiting game, I have been experiencing tons of feelings around this upcoming diagnosis, especially including extreme anger (at incompetent and neglegent doctors of past) and grief. Last night I had multiple nightmares. The first one was about Hannibal Lechter, but it was really about the PCOS (I won't share the details) and then for the rest of the night (felt like forever) I drempt that I had cancer and I was in the final stages but had only just been diagnosed and I was trying to say my goodbyes and tie up loose ends. Ugh! Have any of the rest of you experienced these kinds of reactions in the face of an upcoming PCOS diagnosis?

I'd appreciate hearing that I'm not alone! Thanks.

Hi, your dreams are helping you deal with your emotions I think. You are saying good bye to what was and dealing with what might be. Your anger at what has happened is coming out. Think of it as positive since you are now going on a journey towards a healthier lifestyle. PCOS may not be curable, but it can be treated and arrested. Wishing you pleasanter dreams and happiness. Sorry you were having nightmares... probably because you had the PCOS and all the dr stuff on your mind before you went to sleep and your anxious about it.... I actually didn't have the nitemares... which I pretty much already knew I had PCOS before my official dx anyways, so it wasn't a shock to me, I was actually just trying to find a doc to do the tests to confirm it for me.. I do have nitemares sometimes now, but mine are usually baby related as that is one of my struggles right now I am dealing with.... I wish you good dreams from now on... BEST WISHES
