Hello everyone. I went to a derm yesterday and he diagnosed me as having pcos because of the excessive hair growth and acne. He did not do any labs. He prescribed spiro for me. I was so amazed with his knowledge about pcos. The first things he asked me was have you ever heard of pcos. He is pretty sure I have it. He said he has had alot of patients with it. So now I am wondering if I should try to see a dr. that specializes in pcos or if I should just change my diet and excerise and go to my gp for checkups? The only problems I have are the hair and skin problems. Luckily I am not over weight or diabetic. I have pretty regular periods. I was blessed with two wonderful children so I am not trying to get pregnant. Has anyone ever been diagnosed from a dermatologist? I know pcos can cause other health problems but do you other cysters think I need to get a diagnosis from labs and a ultrasound? Thanks in advance.
