I saw an endocrinologist for the first time last week, I told him my medical history and that I was taking Dianette for the past 4 years, I was supposed to have had my period that previous week as my 7 pill free days had ended on the Wednesday and I saw the endo on Thurs but it hadn't come. He told me that I shouldn't be relying on Dianette as a contraceptive as the hormone dose is too low. Have any of you been told this?
I went to my GP on the Friday really scared that I could be pregnant since the endo said he couldn't do a pregnancy test and to go to my GP, I hardly slept that night. the result was negative and my GP told me not to worry, I think that she was a bit cross with the endo for his lack of sensitivity or reassurance and said dianette was fine as a contraceptive its just not licenced as one. I don't really know who to believe now though. Surely the endo wouldnt tell me that without being sure, he is supposed to be the specialist after all?!
