Dianette/Cyproterone Acetate. Anyone taking them? Bigger breasts?

I'm taking the pill Dianette (containing ethinyl estradiol and cyproterone acetate). However, as ethinyl estradiol is a synthesised oestrogen and, in common with all oral contraceptives, carries a higher risk of breast cancer, I'm thinking of taking the cyproterone acetate alone.

Has anyone else done this? If so, did it work? It's an anti-androgen so it should do. The Dianette works brilliantly for me.

One side-effect of taking Dianette/cyproterone acetate is known to be bigger breasts (gynomastitis), so if any small-breasted girls with PCOS want to try something new for their acne, this could be a very beneficial solution.

i was on diannette for three months because my endo wanted me to try it. i was in absolute agony for the whole three months. it made me ten times worse.
i was quite small breasted back then, but i can't say i noticed any breast increase. i probably didn't take it for long enough though.

I'm sorry to hear that Becca. Have you considered only taking the cyproterone acetate? You can get it as separate tablets. When you say it made you worse, are you referring to your skin?

Also, have you ever taken another Pill? It might be the oestrogen in Dianette which was causing the problems.

i was on mycrogynon (sp?) for about 6 years, from the age of 11 (my mum insisted i went on the pill by my second period because the first one was so painful and she 'couldn't be bothered with doing that every month'. not that it helped much).
with the diannette i was in so much pain. it was literally like a three month period. non stop agony. i told the doc i didn't think it would work, but as usual he didn't listen.
to be honest i'd never even heard of the seperate substance.
