Default On dianette, getting PMT symptoms?

Hello,

I'm pretty much at my wit's end. I've been on Dianette for years with no trouble, but in the last year or so I've been getting increasingly more obvious signs of PMT in the run up to the end of my packet (and therefore my break). Anxiety, I'm weepy, short tempered, and i get spots, too, which I don't get the rest of the month.

Problem is, my consultant says this is impossible, as I'm on the pill, and therefore not ovulating as normal, hence no normal hormone cycle. But I'm sure I'm not imagining it.

Just wanted to know if anybody on here has the same problem...

Thanks,

Toryx

I'm on Diane-35 (not sure if they are the same or similar) I have varying levels of PMT from month to month. There are plenty of factors outside of the pill that can affect your hormones such as stress. If I'm stressed out at that time of the month I'll have bad cramps (which in turn makes my grumpyness worse!)
I guess if you really wanted to know if it was the pill causing it then the only way to find out if it is your pill or not is to stop taking it for a few months.

I am taking Diane 35 as well. I have been on it for a few years and I think that my body has adjusted to it )as it did to every other pill I have ever taken). Now I get my regular back/stomach cramps the week before my period and get more cranky and sensitive for a few days. I won't change it though because it helps prevent any more hair loss caused by PCOS. I actually had hair grow back after it had fallen out a few years before!
