Question dianne 35 without the seven day break

Okay one more question on here. (rescently diagnosed and still have too many questions). How was your experience taking dianne 35 everyday to miss your period (no seven day break). I was put on this course of treatment after three menstrual cycles and am wondering if there are any nasty problems like mood swings, or long term problems like fertility issues, associated with more dianne and no more periods. My seven day rag break is coming up and I feel uneasy about taking dianne on these days.

Hi,

I skip my period every couple of months to give myself a "bleed break". I have no problems with it, but I would recommend talking to your dr.

I was on Diane for 3 years (just recently changed to Monofeme due to heavy periods) and regulary skipped the sugar pills so I only had my period every 2 or 3 months, In the standard info sheet they hand out with the prescription it states that you can do this, although if you are taking Diane for any other reason than contraception (such as most of us with PCOS!) then talk to you doctor.
I skipped my periods as they were heavy and I was worried about iron levels, now that I've lost some weight, my hair issues have subsidied and I'm on holiday we're experiementing with other pills to get my periods lighter.
I didn't notice too much change in mood etc when skipping my periods, I still got grumpy the week before it was meant to come and I saw that as a good sign that if I was grumpy my body was obviously preparing for a period whether it came or not! lol Also - I'd imagine there isn't convincing evidence to suggest you could have fertility issues in the future if you skip you pill or they wouldn't offer such a suggestion on the info sheet.

Thankyou for your responses. I now feel much better about being put on this course of treatment.

Just thought I'd pass on some info I got a few weeks ago from my specialist.

I said I was having PMT type symptoms on Dianette (which of course, you theoretically shouldn't be getting). She said this could be due to a build up of the hormone that's in Dianette that's particularly powerful (sorry, it's completely slipped my mind!) but, anyway - she said therefore that running packs together might increase this problem, and that a break is a good idea to bring your hormone levels back down.

Might be worth a thought....

Hi Tory,

Did she say whether its ok to skip the sugar pills occassionaly or did she flat out warn against it. I find this all so confusing! I honestly dont know anymore when I get what I think is PMT symptoms whether its just me, PCOS or genuine PMT!

Thanks for the info
Kel
