did anyone notice that thier metformin quit working after a mc?
I am on 1500 mgs of metformin and it was wonderful before getting pregnant. I mc'ed 3 months ago and i feel like i did before beginning met. Im emotional and depressed and see no point to life for the last several days. I havent gained all of my energy back yet. I had a period on the 23rd of jan. so i dont believe i am pregnant unless i still got my period. Did anyone go through this after a mc?
I got healthier through low-carbing and regular exercise. That's what helped me get pregnant in the first place. But after Rivi was born, it wasn't enough - I still gained weight, and my symptoms got much worse. My doc added in Met for that reason, and I've felt great ever since.
Yep, this is happening to me. I got pg with Gabriel my first month off of yasmin. After losing Gabriel, my body has been wackier than ever. My PCOS have never been worse, and I've been trying to get pg again for about 7 months... it's not working!

I m/c back in mid Dec. I stopped my met (thought I might need a D&C but in the end didn't). I took about a month off from the met (long story). My body was a bit wonky. I was very emotional (ups and downs) but I attribute that to the m/c and the hormones of pg and then not pg, and a bit to the lack of met.
I've been back on met a few weeks -- worked up my dose more quicly than the first go around. I feel like it's helping, although it's hard to tell. I usually take AF coming as a sign that the met is helping....so ask me again in a few weeks.
I also smart-carb (South Beach) and IR diet (balance carb+protein) -- or at least do something close to them at least most of the time. LOL! I find the two pair well with met (and the IR issues in particular).
I also find in general (and now in particular) that getting some exercise -- which can be as simple as a ten-minute walk around the block -- really helps.
You may need a higher dose of met -- I'd check with your dr.
You may still be grieving.... this was my first m/c and I know there will be good and bad days to come. I think the trick is to keep on keeping on, even when the days are tough. You're doing that by posting here.
I have not been on Met but I can tell you that I had many of the things you have described after my m/c. Just wanted to tell you that it may not totally be tied to the Met but can also be a part of your body and mind working through things.

As far as experience with met before a m/c, I don't know because I was only ever on clomid before I m/c. However, this is my third month on clomid since my m/c, and my dr added in met as well... and it's cd22 now and still no sign of O! On clomid, I have never O'd later than cd17. I am so frustrated by this!
