Default Did met regulate cycle?

I know this has been asked, but I was wondering how long it took to regulate your cycle? I've been on met since late November, but don't know if it has regulated me because I have also been on injectibles. Now, I'll be moving on to IVF, but I have an off month and was hoping maybe I'll o on my own and get pg.
Also, I am not IR, but diagnosed for PCOS from a clinical standpoint (irregular AF, no ovulating, cystic ovaries). Does being IR or not affect whether met is more or less likely to regulate cycle?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I just wanted to say I've also been on Met since November with no regular cycle. I'm not on and injectibles or other fertility drugs yet though. At this point I'm trying to see if I can cycle normally on my own. The doc put me on provera to induce bleeding and instructed me to take it monthly for the first 5 days as well as upped my Met. Would like to know how I will know if I will cycle naturally on my own if taking the provera. I'd also like to know how long it took most to cycle.

Hi! I took Met for 8 months...I took 1000 mg and then I took 2000 mg and I never had an AF. So, I had to induce one with Provera. I am not IR either...my endo has me on BCP for a while, but I am still taking Met. She said that met doesn't always work for everyone (to regulate a cycle). You can try provera though because my endo said how dangerous it was to go without an AF...it builds up in your uterus and now that I just did provera it has hurt like crap! Well, I hope it comes soon for you!

Met did regulate me for a couple years (I have been on it for a LONG time) and then it just stopped! I would have af on my own with the met every once in a while, but not regular.

I have been on Met for about two months. No AF yet. I have also been taking Vitex and that hasn't helped yet either. What a waiting game!

I have regular periods without Met. However, I had my period right before I started Met, and two weeks later I had it again! So I think it jump starts your hormones, so to speak, like starting over from scratch.

I started Met on Oct 13th and my first regular cycle was Dec. I had two 31 day cycles in a row and a will be starting my third on Sunday...so Yes it for sure has regualted my cycles. I only had 4 cycles the whole year of 2006.

I've been on Met since October? (Gee, I can't even remember anymore) I'm still not completely regular. I have my period between cd 30-40 every month.
