I haven't been officially Dx with PCOS...i see an endo. in Dec. But my family dr. put me on Avandia? I haven't started yet because when I googled Avandia+weight, everything came up weight GAIN!! I need to lose about 70 lbs. I work out 6 days a week for the past 6 months and have cut back on carbs and fat and the scale will not budge. I certainly don't need to gain anymore weight.
What has been you're experience with weight gain/loss and Avandia?
When I was first dx'ed with PCOS, my doctor put me on Avandia in the the period of 8 months I lost 45 lbs with the help of weight watchers and excercising.
Good luck...

I've been taking Avandia for about seven weeks and like you, I was afraid of the weight gain. I have about 100 pounds to lose. Since being on it I haven't gained any weight, I haven't lost any weight. I do have to admit that my eating habits have been worse than normal these past few weeks, so I'm not a bit surprised that I haven't lost any weight! Good luck!

I've been taking Avandia for about a little over a year now, and I haven't gained any weight b/c of it. Mind you I haven't lost any either. But that's all going to change this week when I go back to Curves!! Anyhoo, I haven't had any problems with Avandia, generally things are a lot better. More energy, less stomach aggravations like with met. I'm lovin' it. And I'm pretty sure i've been ovulating taking it. So good luck!!
