Default Did your cycles change since M/C?

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a significant change in their cycles since their miscarriage. I always had fairly heavy cramping the day or two before my period, and usually during the first day or two of flow. Since my miscarriage last October, I've noticed that I start feeling those PMS signs pretty much immediately after "O" is over. I start getting cramps way earlier than I ever did before, back pain, etc. And it's only been this way since the miscarriage. Has anyone experienced anything like this. It's kind of a bummer since I was pretty good at tolerating 4 days of cramps, but a few weeks of it really wears me out.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Jenny

Hi,

I didn't have regular cycles before the m/c and so far I've ovulated twice. That's a major change for me. I got my first cycle exactly six weeks afterwards and I'm still going strong. These are the worst cycles that I've ever had in my life. The flow has been heavier along with much more cramping and I can definitely feel when I'm ovulating.

After my 1st m/c, I had a great cycle, O'd on CD17 when I usually wouldn't have O'd until CD28. We conceived on that cycle, but unfortunately had another m/c. Since that one (8 weeks ago) I haven't had an O... but I'm still wondering if my cycles will be good once I finally do O. It's generally thought that pr and m/c "improves" your cycles. So the extra cramping etc is probably a good sign. Are they any different in length?

I've had a similar experience. Avandia had regualted my cycles to 26-29 days before my mc in November. Since then I have been having 40-47 day cycles, and no mature follies. AF has also been longer and heavier. This is the first cycle I have o'd on, and I started feeling those PMS symptoms right away too. Not so much cramping, but the blaoted, weepy, tired feeling. Unfortunately, you are not alone in this!

After my first m/c at 16weeks the doc said it would be easier for me to get pg. It had taken us 8 1/2 long years. I didn't really notice a change in the heaviness or cramping but prior to ttc my periods were every 6-9 months and then would last 2 weeks or longer. After the m/c my cycles were still irregular but were 21 days one month and as long as 52 days another. I did however get pg again 9 months later on my own. I had her early (23 weeks) but when we decided to try again I got pg the first month off the bcp but m/c at 5 weeks. when we tried again after the m/c it only took me 3 months and I delivered a healthy full term little girl thanks to a cerclage. This time after going off bcp's I got pg on the 4th cycle( I was also on glucxr1000mg) but ended up m/c at 13weeks(just last week) so as you can see it was much easier to get pg just not so easy to sustain the pg. 3 mc out of 5pgs aren't very good odds. I thank my stars for my two daughters and pray that we will be blessed with another successful pg in the near future. I hope this helps.

I am only on my 2nd cycle since the m/c. But the first one was hard and heavy, lasting the normal time. This one is in the middle, I should have O'd last week but I think I did today or yesterday. I had some midcycle spotting today that although it was mild and hasn't recurred, is something I have never experienced, ever! I definitely have ovary pains so I know I O'd or am Oing, so could that cause it? It's weird.. I definitely subscribe to there being a definite difference.

After my m/c - AF was MIA for 5 months. I usually had AF ever 45-50 days. It took two rounds of Provera to get her started. The next AF was really light and only 25 days - the following one was heavy. I am now waiting for AF. I think the m/c did screw up my cycles. Although they were never the 28 perfect cycle - they were regular for me.

I always seemed to have normal cycles before ever becoming pg, but they lasted 7 - 10 days and I had horrible cramps the week before and the first 3 days. The cramps were so bad at times, I couldn't even walk. I also experienced alot of cramping if I was lying in bed and coughed.

Since mc #1, my body changed alot. I had regular cycles. I knew if I started AF on the 12th of this month that AF would be here on the 12th of next month. That was really different for me. But what was even worse was that the first day was about one pad heavy (which was normal for me) for the entire day and then day 2 and/or day 3 was from hell. I was changing my pad every 2 hours and if I waited 2 hrs 1 min, there would be a mess. I've ruined 2 chairs at work. My boss (woman) has been really nice about it. I do have to say with the heavyness of AF there were no cramps. ! Although AF was regular, I was not OV and had to be put on clomid before pg #2.

I have just had AF since mc #2 and nothing has changed since last time. The heavyness is still there and yes, there went another desk chair, but not so bad that it needed to be replaced.

I asked my doctor about the heavyness and didn't seem to think there was a problem.

I hope you can find a way to cope with your cycle so that you can live with it.

Good luck!
