The pharmacy filled my gluc xr prescription with met er. Is there any difference?? I am surprised they filled it different than what the doctor wrote on the script!

I think Met XR is generic Glucophage XR. If your doc didn't write 'brand only' the pharmacist has the right to subsitute for a generic brand.

Exact same drug... I was a pharmacy tech for years. In some rare instances there are slight differences between a couple of drugs between the brand name and the generic. (ex. Ritalin) People may want to argue that with me, but you'd be amazed at how your mind can make things seem... (it's all in your head....)

The active ingredients are exactly the same but the binders and fillers can be different.
