So I was at the store today getting food for my brother and his family as they are struggling with bills at the moment and I came across a section that has organic teas.
They had a ton!! Some for women to help with things like menstrul cycles and other womanly issues.
Some that helps your immune system
Some that helped you relax at night
Some to of course give you energy in the day
Pretty much organic herbal teas for anything you can think of. I wish I could remember what they were called... but do these really work or is it more just a waste of money?
It says on boxes they have been clinically tested and proven to help but of course some companies say that just to sell the product.

I haven't tried the organic ones, but have used Celestial Seasonings teas. The "AM detox" workd great to knock out the flu everytime DH gets one. And the Sleepy Time was some potent stuff when we first started taking it (it's effects wore off after awhile). DH & I use to have some wild nightmares with Sleepy Time (and once the same exact dream!). So yes, I do believe herbal teas DO work!!

Thanks guys! They had so many.. for pretty much anything you can think of and when I get paid I may get one of them. Do you think putting honey in it though for the taste would defeat the purpose?

As far as I know, anything is fine for herbal tea, but I'm not absolutely sure. Regular "true" teas (green tea, oolong, black tea, etc.) you shouldn't put any milk products (or some powdered non-dairy creamers) in the tea because the casseins (milk proteins) negate the effect of antioxidents in tea - unless you're just drinking it for the taste, not the health benefits. But sweeteners are fine. No milk products in chinese formula teas either.

I've used Traditional Medicinal brand tea. There's a ginger one for digestion that I like, and my girlfriend swears by Throat Coat when she is sick.

Does Sleepy Time have valarian? I tried some tea like that before and had nightmares every time I used it!!! A couple were of Tom Cruise and aliens, so I gave the rest of my tea away. I didn't need any more of those, thank you!!

mkaz the Herbal Tussin that they make is excellent as well. I got over my cold in two days and I had a nasty cough...
Herbs are like magic
I'm going to remember that! I usually up the green tea intake or make my own concoction (ginger, lemon, honey), but the Herbal Tussin would be great.
Wish they had a PCOS tea...

Omg, Tom Cruise...that is my worst nightmare. The same nightmare we had was what we call "the skull man". DH described it exactly as I had seen it. We both had occasional bouts of the skull man dream, but we don't "do" Sleepytime tea anymore!! Lol. I can't even say it was a dream, it was more like a flash/hallucination as we were drifting off to sleep.
I had to look it up, but it has: Chamomile, Linden, Spearmint, Passion Flower, Orange Blossoms, Bilberry, Rose, Lemon Bark, Poppy Flower, Red (that's all it said "Red"), Orange Leaf.
Maybe it's the Poppy??! Yikes, I never thought about it, but Opium is made from Poppy. DH works for a railroad, and they do random drug testing, and he will not eat anything with poppy seeds because it can give a false positive. Not that poppy seeds will drug you up, but I wonder if the herbal version has a bigger effect.
An old coworker told me her mom had used Sleepytime and also had "nightmares".

I get my teas (nothing special though, just green tea leaves and a spearmint leaf one) in the buk foods dept and my market. The high sticker pricer per pound is a bit scary but it takes a heck of a lot of tea to make a pound.
Also, I hav eswitched from honey or Splenda to using Stevia extract as a sweetner. It is soooo good and calorie free and suposedly a medicinal herb too. I get the stuff called Only Sweet at Fred Meyer/Kroger. http://www.onlysweet.com/
