Default dilemma

I have been on Yaz for 6 months now and it has really helped with my PCOS induced cystic hormonal acne. I've actually lost weight on it and gained a cup size. It hasn't made me feel weird or extra emotional. I love Yaz, but the thing is every month half way into my pack I have light cramps, spot a little, and breakout in patches of whiteheads in the vicinity of my mouth.

So here's my dilemma. When I told my Gyno this she said that the hormones in Yaz may not be strong enough for me, since it is a low dose. She said I could try Yasmin. My concern is I know Yasmin contains more Estrogen. How will this effect me? Is there any chance this will break me out? I'm looking for a pill that will keep me clear as I approach TTOM.

2 weeks ago I started 25mgs of Spiro in conjunction with Yaz...should I wait and see if the added Spiro helps? Or start on Yasmin? What would you do?

Since you just started a new med, I personally, would wait and see how the Spiro works. If you are still having trouble, then I'd switch. Good luck

I would weight and see how the spiro works. However, 25 mg seems like a really low dose. I started out on 25 mg twice a day and now I take 50 mg twice a day. Along with my Spiro I take Yasmin and it also has 25 mg of spiro in it. I haven't had any problems with the Yasmin and my face actually has been a lot clearer since I have started taking it. I haven't had hardly any breakouts at all. Maybe one or two in the five months I have been taking it.

Hi, I was on yasmin for a couple years about 2 or 3? it was working pretty great for a while and then really messed me up, or Maybe my body changed? any how I found it was the only thing that has ever cleared up all my hormonal acne!!!! It was great for that and it didnt give me any hair loss. I think we do need more estrogen my dr. said to fully clear up everything acne wise. and if you are doing good on the low dose you should do good with the little more stronger dose too. try it out. you can always stop taking it if it doesnt work well for you. good luck .

Thanks girls!
I phoned my Gyno and she agreed to change my pill to Yasmin and give it 3 months. Hopefully this will improve things
