Hey I'm currently taking DIM. I take about 300 mg daily, because I'm a bigger person. You should definitely go to www.bioresponse.com. You can learn everything you need to on DIM, and you can get a free information package from them. It's actually a very nice package. It comes with a little book and charts and informative articles. I pay about $35/month for DIM. I only buy the brands with the patented BioResponse DIM, because all clinical studies I have read about (including ones from Harvard) have used that type of DIM, which is more readily available in the body than other types.

I initially wanted to try it because I thought it might alleviate some symptoms of PCOS (mainly the hirsutism), however after doing more reading and research I'm now taking it because of results of clinical studies which show DIM having positive effects on reversing cervical cancer or precancerous cells in the cervix. I've had abnormal paps for about two years, and I really hope that taking this supplement will make a difference. From all the research I've done, it seems to be very promising for cervical health. Apparently you have to take it for at least 6 months before you notice any changes in the cells. I really don't want another colposcopy and I really don't want to deal with surgery in that region. Unfortunately I have paps every 3 months. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that DIM will make a difference.

But yeah check out that link, and definitely sign up for an information package. It's totally free and it's really informative. You can also go to www.dimfaq.com and read about it there.

I've read both of those websites. I'm looking for opinions of people who actually use it and not people who are trying to sell it hehe. Has it helped you with hirsutism any? Estrogen?

It hasn't helped with the hirsutism from what I can see, but I've only been on it a month. I'm on BCPs, so I don't know if it would help with the estrogen. Like I said, I'm taking it to see what happens with the whole cervical cell thing. I have another pap today. Woot. I'll let you know if I see any difference with the hirsutism. Hope that helps. Oh yeah, you might want to search the hair board for the thread titled "I3C is Reducing Chin and Neck Hair." That's what initially got me interested in DIM, but perhaps I3C would work for you. Talk to you soon.

Let me know how it goes! I've asked my ND's opinion on I3C vs DIM and she seems to be more fond of I3C, but she said she'll do some more research for me and she'll let me know Friday.
