Question Disappearing AF?

Can somebody please tell me if Met can cause your cycle to LENGTHEN if your dose is too high?

I upped my dose to 1500 mg/day about 3 weeks ago. I didn't O this month, and AF is about 8 days late (have been having cramping the whole 8 days). I got a BFN a few days ago.

Is it just a coincidence that AF disappeared when I upped the Met? I'd been steady at every 28-30 days.

I'm thinking of dropping back down to 1000 mg.

This is my first cycle on Met and I have yet to start. I'm almost 2 weeks later than usual, although with PCOS i'm not sure I've ever been regular LOL. I've got 2 BFN test results so I'm waiting everyday.

My opinion is that the Met is doing a major overhaul on our hormones, so things may be out of whack for a while. I'm noticing small differences that are very encouraging. I'm giving it another week before I call my dr. I've skipped months before so I'm not too concerned, but I'm anxious to start TTCing so I feel like the wait is forever!!!!

Default My Updated Cycle

Well, I've been charting my temps on Fertiltiy Friend and it looks like things are going good.

My before Met cycle was 31 days long, so I was really unhappy when this first on Met seemed to last forever (57 days). But it looks like I may have ovulated on my own on CD 45. This morning my temp dropped dramaticly, and tonight my period started. I'm excited to see what happens this next cycle.

Oh My. I am currently having the same problem as well but my dose has been the same since I started. But AF is late this month and I have some pains in the left side of my uterus. I got 2BFN as well. It concerns me becuase a girl I work with told me I should be concerned about a tubal. My temp has been steady for the past 6-8 days also higher than usual, but no positive yet. It hurts when I bend but other than that I'm ok please let me know what you think

Have you posted this question on the TTC section of the board? I bet someone there could help you, I've never experienced that. Sorry

Viv, my cycles are getting veeerryy long too now that I am back on Met. They used to be around 32 days. Before I had the baby they were between 34 and 41 days. My last two were 45 and 46 - the longest ever! No idea what's causing it. I have not upped my dose - I am still only on 500mg. I'm wondering if something else could be the cause?

Sorry I haven't been much help, but at least you know you're not the only one with that problem.

Arrow uh, Interesting...

I guess I am the weird one....my periods are 6 months to a whole year apart....I was hoping that Met would make them more frequent...guess that's not the case. Anyway...good luck in TTC.

hi ladies,
i've been on met (1000mg) for 25 days. this is cd38 and there is no sign of af.
it's not like my cycles were shorter before the met. i went off the pill in nov and my first cylce was 41 days and second was 52 days and going so i took provera.
it's just that i was really hoping that my cycles would get shorter soon because dh and i are ttc.
anywhoo, i just wanted to drop in and say hi. i guess lots of us are experiencing the same problem, huh? i guess met just does an overhaul on the hormones and it just takes a while for our bodies to adjust.
needless to say it's been a very stressful few months.
hope you are all well.

The first month I was on met AF came at CD33, the second month was CD31. I am on CD 30, and no AF. I have had cramping a lot the past two days and a lot of cm. I am waiting til CD34 to take another HPT. I took one the other day and received a BFN. My boobs are sore, but earlier this week my nips were VERY sensitive to the touch, and itching like crazy.

Unhappy

Tiara51 I have taken 2 and still got BFN. I actually was having some pain in my uterus for about a week or more when ever I bent down to pick up something. I was told by a friend that she got neg results up until her 2nd month of pregnancy. The only signs of pg are my nipples are extremely sensitive and tingly. My temp has been steady and high since easter. And shows no signs of AF yet Really confused

That's exactly what it is. It took longer than a month to mess the hormones up, it will also take a while to fix them. This was my timetable two years ago when I started Met: One month later I got my first af (after nine months of nothing at all), six months till I ovulated, another two till I got pregnant. All this time I was slowly losing weight, experiencing my brain fog clearing up and just generally feeling that much better.
