ive got a question for anyone who can answer it for me, or that has happened to them before also. I think my body is very acidic. Sometimes, if i have a dark color of underwear on, i will get a little bit of discharge that actually bleaches my underwear! It doesnt happen all the time, but alot of my undies have been basically ruined by this. I would also assume that that couldnt be good for sperm either...Anyone either have this problem before or heard about it? Is it related to PCOS?

that is familiar! i never thought of it as acting like bleach, but i guess it does, doesn't it? well not exactly like bleach, for me- not a complete drainage of colour, just lightening. i never thought of it as abnormal though. i don't think that it means high acidity, but who knows?
anyone else?

Me too, and I've always wondered about the acidity levels. It doesn't happen all the time, but at different cycle points. Hmmmmm.....it's always nice to know you aren't alone.

Vaginas are naturally acidic. They're supposed to be. It keeps germs out. That said, I don't think it's too sperm friendly, and many of us are too acidic. I think we're supposed to be just slightly acidic. Get some pH strips, and find out just how acidic you are, and then do a search on "alkaline forming foods". It should turn up some interesting stuff.
BTW, I also bleach my undies... and I also burn holes through them. (After a while)
I have always wondered about this. This is not somthing you bring up in "every day" conversation. I am glad we have this sight!!
I have been taking vit. B complex for many months now... and It has not been as much of a "problem" lately. I never put 1 and 1 together, thank you sem52!!
It happens to me as well, has done for years, though i have never thought it abnormal... and im sure it hasnt got anything to do with pcos as my best buddy also has the "bleaching effect" and she hasnt got pcos....

the sweat thing made me think of this- maybe it's just salt? that is why sweat does it, i'm sure. a bathing suit worn in the ocean is going to fade a lot faster than one worn in fresh water. could cm be on the salty side, too?

There is an article in May's Parents magazine that talks about gender selection and the general folklore that surrounds the issue. It also talks about the Shettles method which explains how the vagina's acidity effects whether you end up with a boy or a girl. Take it for what it's worth...but it sure is interesting!

my black knickers are red around the elastic on the leg holes .... they have bleached ..lol so now i buy red and black knikers solves the problem hehehehehe
i think its more the sweat that does it as i dont get discharge from that area (where the leg elastic is)...but i do sweat ***sigh***
