    Question Discharge with PCOS???

Anyone else out there have watery discharge all the time that can also be a little irritating?

I am 25 and For over a year 1/2 I have had unknown gyn issues. It started with a very watery discharge that would drip into the toilet every time I went to the bathroom. It would dissolve and make the water look very cloudy. Everything around me also started smelling very strange. After three months of having this discharge my always normal periods became very light, only lasting for about a day and only causing spotting and tiny clots in the toilet water, I didn't even need a tampon. I had no PMS, no bloating, no tender breasts, absolutley nothing!

I thought I had some unknow STD and now a year 1/2 later and after 7 doctors my hormones were finally checked and my diagnosis is PCOS. I don't get it... How can I all of a sudden have this propblem?

The only symptom I have is high testosterone and low FSH.

Sounds like Bacterial Vaginosis which is sorta difficult to get rid of. I've been dealing with it since 2006 on top of constant yeast infections. Each prescription treatment (Metrozonidale Gel) that I get only helps for a little bit.

The watery discharge actually comes with PCOS. Only high testosterone and low FSH is actually a VERY big deal. Though you may only be getting the easy symptoms now, if it goes untreated, you can start looking like a man, and you will never ovulate, thus meaning you can never have children. As an adolescent that always sounded great to me. As I got older, it sucked. I have to get my face waxed every few weeks or you can see black hairs growing. After having 3 children (because it gets worse after every child) I started bleeding uncontrollably for 2 yrs with the only medicine that would stop it, being birth control.... (we wanted another baby....how can you get pregnant on birth control?!?!?!) Anyways, to continue with the watery discharge, a womans body has usually 4-5 different types of discharge through out her cycle.... Creamy, Watery, Eggwhite, Sticky or Dry. Watery and Eggwhite are the highest signs of fertility. However, with PCOS, a womans body is always trying to ovulate. Our LH hormones SURGE to the sky but our FSH is never told to release an egg, so our estrogen and progesterone levels can get effected and testosterone levels build. The watery discharge is your body continuosly trying over and over and over to pop out an egg. but instead, its not, its turning into a cyst smaller than 6mm. As time goes on, every couple of days to every couple of weeks your body will continue in this cycle.... try to pop an egg out.... try to pop an egg out.... and in turn, thousands and millions of tiny cysts smaller than 6mm will be creating all over your ovaries. Yes its normal for women with PCOS to have multiple 'patches' in their cycle of Watery/Eggwhite fluid. Its also common to have tons of "almost positive" OPKs for the same reason. It detects our LH which is always surging. So, my suggestion, pray over your body. Listen to your doc, do what they say. Also, study alot about PCOS. Endometrial and Uterine cancer risks are increased with PCOS. So is Heart Disease. It didnt come on suddenly. Youve always had it, and they say it will never go away. The symptoms may, at times, be better than others, but there is no cure. Only temporary bandaids, such as Clomid and other fertility drugs or Birth Control Pills.

Hope I was of some help to some one.

    God bless,
    Chels

I have this discharge too! I thought maybe it was caused by an infection, but two months ago I had a gyno exam and the doctor didn't find any infections. She believed it is from PCOS since we ruled everything else out. Sometimes, mine will also smell like bleach. Especially if I excercise or do other activites causing me to sweat. Does anyone find the discharge to sometimes irrate down there? Lately, I've notice the discharge to occasionally cause some discomfort down there - but not all the time.

Vickyteeoria: This is extreme. I have had it since puberty (only had a period twice by age 20 and I started wearing a bra in 4th grade) and it went pretty much untreated until just the past few months and I promise you I don't look like a man. Lol! As far as never having children yes that will happen if you don't treat it, and your body refuses to ovulate. Just in the last 3 or 4 months have I been able to get mine to do that.
When it is so new it can be very scary. Don't let it scare you though. We just have higher and a few more hurdles to get over than a lot of people but with the women on this sight it makes it a lot easier because there is always someone in the same boat that can offer support, or that have been there, done that, sold the T-shirt, that can tell you how to fix or get through the problems.
Just do as much research as you can, there are many ways to treat it. It took me over 10 yrs to find the right way for me to treat mine but my body is responding beatifully and I finally have solid reasons to hope to become a mommy in the next year or so.
Don't give up and don't be afraid to ask for opinions or help with problems, we're all here for you.

Wow ladies, Thank you so much! Back when my issues took place, I took 3 plan B's within 3 months. I really believe that is what messed up my hormones and brought on the PCOS. I am on birth control right now. Is there any other way to treat the PCOS? I would rather just try to ovulate on my own... I also get a strange smell in my nasal passage ever since then. Could that be hormonal as well?
