Well I had my first appointment at the hospital this morning with the gyn, all went okay, to be honest did not tell me anything I did not know and that I will need a scan (god never!) but there is a waiting list. Took my blood pressure, which was slightly high. Asked me lots of questions did not mention my weight problem. Then I went with the nurse who fixed up my scan appointment for 29th November, a 6 month wait, well 5 months and 2 weeks! Which was a bit of a shock. I am then booked in to see the consultant again the day after the scan on the 30th November, so guess I am just playing the waiting game.
The nurse asked some questioned about my weight, am I trying to lose some, ermm always, so I guess I have 5 months really to put in the effort to lose some.
I am also planning a holiday in December so will try and shed some pounds for that trip.
Nothing said about my lack of AF for now almost 11 months and counting… perhaps if I lose some weight it might return, am gonna put the flags out if it does! Lol
well, it is a good thing that you know what's going on and they didn't throw something totally unexpected at you. i can understand that it's frustrating to wait for 5-6 mo for a test, though.
i went for a year with no periods, and after i lost about 25-30 lbs, they started back, and quite regular, too. so, i know its a different story for everyone, but i hope that gives you some hope. i hope you do get to put out flags!

Wow I can't believe there is that much of a wait for a scan!! is it just an ultrasound or what? Why such long wait??
That my friend is sadly the UK and the NHS..... If I went private it would eat up half a months wages and I can barly afford to live now lol so I have no choice to win, unless a rich aunt dies or I win the lottory...
