Im considering getting a DivaCup as an alternative to pads and tampons. I think this will be better for me since i have a very heavy flow. But i'ld really like to know about other peoples experiences with it (good or bad) to help me decide if its right for me. Is it really as comfortable and easy to insert as they make it seem?
I'ld appreciate your help and anything you can tell me about it.
I *LOVE* the Diva Cup. I can't say enough good things about it! It took me a couple of tries before I was comfortable getting it in and out, but now it's a breeze. My favorite thing about it is that even on heavy days I don't have to worry about leaking. I wear it anywhere from 8-12 hours at a time and sometimes I even forget that I'm having AF. It's amazing. Definitely give it a try.

I've only heard things about the Instead Cup. I've used them for "holding in" the "soldiers" while TTC, but I've never used them for AF.
Some people like the Instead Cups, but I like using my tampons.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Diva cup! I WISH I had the guts to try it back in college when I was so much more active with sports- it would have been SO SO SO much better than dealing with the tampons and pads (I have always needed BOTH) Although my AF's were far and few between, they were monsters when they did come. My sister tried her diva cup first and loved it and that convinced me to get one too since my AF's were becoming more regular with the meds and exercise. I have the small size- I'm 26 and it works great for me. My sister and friend have had to get the bigger one and they are 28 and 29- guess we streatch out a little with age Although mine does leak a bit--a VERY little bit I wonder if I should get the bigger one too sometime? I usually only use my diva cup the first 3 days and then my flow is so light I don't need it- but my sis and friend use their cup only the entire length of their AF's. Me? I'm so DAMN PROUD of getting an AF I kinda want to experience it! Is that silly?
Anyhow, I say GO FOR IT! It takes a little work, patience and practice, but it totally pays off!
Good Luck! - Julie

I absolutely love my Diva Cup and would never go back to pads or tampons! It does take a very little bit of practice to get it in right but then so did tampons. Once it is in properly you don't feel it at all- most people do end up trimming the stem off the bottom as it can be a bit long but once that is done you don't even know it is in. If you worry about leaks you can always use a pantiliner. I say it is definitely worth a try and if you hate it there is a money back guarantee, although I have yet to hear of somebody who didn't love it.
it is a menstrual cup- rather than soaking up the AF like a tampon, it catches it in a little cup There are other models too- the diva cup is a clear medical grade silicone cup-others are thick natural rubber. It is not like the instead cup- that one is a lot more flimsey. Check out some of the previous threads- there are other great things on them...or www.divacup.com
