My Mood: Points: 15,670.78 Bank: 38,465.74 Total Points: 54,136.52 | I have had dizziness a few times a year since 2001. My doctor originally told me to get an over the counter remedy called meclizine (the brand name I buy is Bonine but I'm sure it comes in different names). You can find it in the motion-sickness section, like with Dramamine.
It helps somewhat, but I have to take it before my episodes get really bad or else it takes a long time to work. I have taken three or four of those chewable tablets in a 24-hour period, which my doctor said was okay. It makes me a little drowsy but it helps take the edge off if I have to drive somewhere.

Thanks for all the info ladies. I'm glad I came across this thread.

That's when your eyes bounce up and down until the dizziness stops. It only lasts a few minutes and doesn't happen all the time, though I do have trouble with my balance sometimes. It has something to do with the little tiny hars in the inner ear. DR said a physical therapist can do some manipulations of my head and that will help.
