dizzy w/met

I just had a dizzy spell where I was sitting at work, looking at the computer, and room was suddenly spinning for 5-10 seconds. I totally freaked. I started met about 2 weeks ago and i'm at 1000 a day. Could this be the met? How worried should I be? Is this what people mean when they say met makes them dizzy?

I actually started met 1.5 months ago, got up to 1500 a day, then went off for various reasons for about a week.. so now i've been back on for two weeks. had almost no side affects during that 1.5 months however so this is new to me..

You should prob talk to your doctor about it...

Are you taking the 1000 at one time, or 2 x 500mg? For me it works best (after experimenting with it) when I take one 500mg in the morning and the second 500mg in the evening, plus it releases in your body constantly (1 pill has the effect for 12hrs according to my Endo) Also try to take the Met with food, might be easier on your body...

I have the dizzy problem too and i called my dr. yesterday and she said that it could be that im lowering my blood sugar too much so now im down to 1 500mg pill a day and breaking that in half for a week to see how i feel...so far today im ok but it does seem to come on anytime. Good luck with that i hate dealing with it too.

Guys, it sounds like low blood sugar which can happen if you don't eat enough on metformin. Make sure you eat small meals often (every 2 or 3 hours) and it helps a ton!
